Historical Outline

The Pro Loco Dervio was born in 1960 with the target to promote events for tourists and culture in order to potentiate the Town. The first president was Dr. Bombaglio, then Mr. Matrone and afterwards Simone Nicolò, who was president for 33 years.

Some historical events are directly related to him and his collaborators, such as:

·        The swimming cross Rezzonico-Dervio for a whole 25 editions.

·        The endurance swimming trial Lecco-Dervio, has subsequently become a trial of the   Campionato Italiano Gran Fondo, where important international champions have taken part.

·        The Sgamelada, a non-competitive light trekking.

·        Nevertheless, there is no doubt that the most important event presented during these years is La Passione (The crucifixion and death of Jesus at Calvary) played during Good Friday showing, in a very suggestive way, the Way of the Cross.

Now the President of Pro Loco for the second time is Paolo Raineri. Together with his great collaborators  he will continue to maintain alive and fertile this historical association.
